Breast Augmentation Satisfaction Rates

Are you considering breast augmentation surgery, but remain unsure about how satisfied you’ll be after the procedure?  If so, you might find the following information helpful as you make your decision.

On October 15, 2003, the Food and Drug Administration’s advisory panel did a survey of over 5,000 women who had received breast implants (both silicone and saline filled).   Of that 5,000, 89% stated that they were satisfied with their surgery and 94% said that they would recommend breast augmentation to others.

These numbers speak for themselves!  If you are hesitant about whether breast augmentation is right for you, I would encourage you to speak with women who have undergone the procedure – preferably by the same plastic surgeon you will be considering.   Doing this kind of preliminary research will not only put you at ease regarding the operation, but it will also give you that additional boost of confidence that you can move forward with the procedure without fear of regret afterwards.

This particular survey also noted what percentage of women had to go back for reoperation after their initial breast augmentation procedure.  Of the 5,000 women surveyed, only a small percentage (13%) reported undergoing a reoperation.   It is also important to note that of that 13%, 35% chose reoperation in order to go with larger implants (rather than due to some unforeseen complication).

Simply put: odds are in your favor that you are going to love the results that breast augmentation can give you.  What are you waiting for?  Summer is fast approaching – what better time to treat yourself to a new body and a new outlook?
