Breast Augmentation – Choosing the Right Size: Part 1

Once a woman decides to undergo breast augmentation surgery, the inevitable next question for her will be this: “What size do I want to be?”  Often, this is the most difficult part of the process – deciding what cup size will look and feel best on your body.  Consider Your Expectations. At an initial consultation, I am able to explain to a client what to expect from the surgery.  Women’s bodies vary in many ways, and women are often unaware that their individual body shape, skin, and muscles can possibly limit what can be done surgically.  If the “look” you are going for will not be likely following the surgery, a good surgeon will be honest with you about this fact.

For example, depending on the location of your breasts on your chest, it might not be possible to achieve a cleavage effect after your breast augmentation surgery, regardless of how large of an implant you have.  Surgeons are limited in how close they can place the implants to the center of the chest cavity, and this is strictly determined by safety protocol and a woman’s individual body shape.
